Campeonato da FIVB, organizado por Praia Clube e Sada Cruzeiro, tem início em Uberlândia (MG)

Começou o Mundial de Vôlei de Clubes Masculino da Federação Internacional de Vôlei (FIVB)! Sediado em Uberlândia (MG), o torneio é organizado pelo Praia Clube, em parceria com o Sada Cruzeiro. Os jogos ocorrerão de 10 a 15 de dezembro na Arena Sabiazinho, com capacidade para 6 mil pessoas. Alguns dos melhores times e atletas do mundo estarão em quadra disputando o título.
O Mundial de Clubes entra para o portfólio de grandes eventos já realizados pelo Praia Clube. Em anos recentes, o Clube organizou duas etapas do Mundial de Vôlei de Praia (Beach Pro Tour – Elite 16), além de etapas do Circuito Sul-Americano de Vôlei de Praia e do Campeonato Sul-Americano de Clubes de Voleibol Feminino em 2023.
O torneio é realizado pela Federação Mineira de Voleibol (FMV), por meio de projeto inscrito na Lei Federal de Incentivo ao Esporte. O patrocínio master é do Governo de Minas Gerais, via Companhia Energética de Minas Gerais (Cemig).

O jogo
O jogo de abertura do torneio ocorreu às 10h da manhã de hoje (10), na Arena Sabiazinho, que já recebeu eventos de grande porte, como as finais da Superliga Feminina da temporada 2022/23, e a final da Superliga Masculina 2021/22. O confronto foi entre o Trentino, da Itália, campeão europeu, e o Shahdab Yazd, do Irã, vice-campeão asiático.
A formação inicial do Shahdab Yazd (IRN) contou com o levantador Ilshan; o oposto Ghafour; os ponteiros Salim e Usman; os centrais Concepción e Masoud; e o líbero Ali Asghar. O treinador da equipe é o iraniano Rahman Mohammadirad. Já a formação inicial do Trentino (ITA), contou com o levantador Sbertoli; o oposto Rychlicki; os ponteiros Michieletto e Lavia; os centrais Flávio e Pellacani; e o líbero Laurenzano. O treinador da equipe é o italiano Fabio Soli.
O primeiro ponto do campeonato foi feito com o central brasileiro Flávio, do Trentino, em jogada rápida pelo meio. O início do primeiro set foi marcado por um ritmo intenso do Trentino, enquanto o Shahdab Yazd tentava acompanhar os italianos. Com boas defesas, os campeões europeus logo abriram 8 a 3, obrigando os iranianos a pedirem tempo.
Alguns erros de rotação foram assinalados pela arbitragem: dois deles no time do Irã, e um no time da Itália. No caso do Shahdab Yazd, a equipe reclamou bastante com a árbitra da partida, o que rendeu um cartão amarelo na primeira ocasião, e um vermelho coletivo na segunda, gerando mais um ponto para o Trentino.
A tônica do set foi a mesma até o fim: o Trentino apresentou bom volume de jogo, aproveitando seus contra-ataques e manteve sua larga vantagem, vencendo o set por 25 a 12, com Lavia fechando a parcial em uma bola de xeque.
Ao contrário do primeiro set, o segundo foi mais equilibrado. Apesar de alguns erros de saque do Trentino, o que manteve o placar apertado no início da parcial, o Shahdab Yazd melhorou na recepção e passou a equilibrar de vez o jogo, empatando o placar em 11 a 11, utilizando bastante as jogadas pelo meio com o central e capitão Masoud. Com ele no saque, a equipe dificultou a recepção dos italianos, e o vice-campeão asiático abriu 14 a 12, ficando à frente do placar pela primeira vez na partida.
Porém, o Trentino se aproveitou de alguns erros da equipe iraniana para despontar na frente do placar no final do set, saindo de um 16 a 17 para um 20 a 17 a seu favor. Mas o Shahdab Yazd não se entregou no jogo e, em um ace do oposto Ghafour, encostou novamente no placar em 20 a 19.
Com três pontos em sequência, o Trentino chegou ao set point em 24 a 21. O Shahdab Yazd salvou o primeiro, mas Michieletto, em ataque pela entrada de rede, explorou o bloqueio da equipe iraniana e fechou o set em 25 a 22.
No terceiro set, o Trentino novamente abriu vantagem cedo no placar, mas o Shahdab Yazd não deixou o time italiano escapar no placar. Os saques do campeão europeu fizeram efeito, com Rychlicki abrindo 6 a 3 no placar, e Michieletto fazendo 8 a 5 logo depois.
O Trentino também mexeu na sua equipe, colocando o oposto García no lugar de Rychlicki para atuar no restante do terceiro set. A equipe italiana seguiu com um bom ritmo de jogo, abrindo quatro pontos de vantagem no placar. Mesmo assim, os iranianos seguiam pontuando bem no ataque, o que não permitiu que a desvantagem fosse como na primeira parcial.
A partida manteve-se assim até o final, com o Shahdab Yazd se aproximando da pontuação do Trentino em algumas ocasiões. Concepción, por exemplo, anotou um ace e diminuiu a desvantagem para apenas dois pontos, com 19 a 17 para os europeus no placar.
A equipe do Trentino chegou ao match point em 24 a 19, mas o Shahdab Yazd marcou mais dois pontos antes de Magalini pontuar em ataque pela entrada de rede, fechando o jogo em 3 a 0 (25/12, 25/22 e 25/21). Agora, o Trentino encara o Ciudad Volley (ARG), vice-campeão sul-americano, enquanto o Shahdab Yazd enfrenta o Sada Cruzeiro, campeão da América do Sul.
O ponteiro Daniele Lavia, do Trentino, foi o maior pontuador da partida, com 12 pontos. Também ponteiro, Michieletto anotou 10, enquanto o central Flávio fez 9 para o time italiano. Pelo lado do Shahdab Yazd, o central Javier Concepción fez 10 pontos. O oposto Ghafour anotou 8, e o central Masoud marcou 7 vezes.

Men’s Volleybal Club World Championship, from the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB), hosted by Praia Clube and Sada Cruzeiro, starts in Uberlândia

The Men’s Volleybal Club World Championship, tournament from the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB), has begun! Hosted in Uberlândia (MG), the championship is organized by Praia Clube, in partnership with Sada Cruzeiro. The games will occur between December 10th and 15th, in Arena Sabiazinho, with a capacity for 6.000 people. Some of the best teams and athletes in the world will be in the court fighting for the title.
The Club World Champs joins Praia Clube’s portfolio of hosting big events. In recent years, the club hosted the Beach Pro Tour – Elite 16 twice, and also the South American Beach Volleyball Championship, and the South American Women’s Club Championship in 2023.
The tournament is organized by the Minas Gerais Volleyball Federation (FMV) through a project registered under the Federal Sports Incentive Law. The main sponsorship comes from the Minas Gerais state government, via the Minas Gerais Energy Company (Cemig).
The match
The opening match started on December, 10th, 10 a.m., in Arena Sabiazinho. The arena hosted big events, like the Women’s Brazilian Superliga in 2022/23 season, and the Men’s Brazilian Superliga in 2021/22 season. The italians Trentino, european champions, faced the iranians Shahdab Yazd, second place in the asian championship.
Shahbad’s line-up had the setter Ilshan; the opposite Ghafour; the outside hitters Salim and Usman; the middle blockers Concepcion and Masoud; and the libero Ali Asghar. The iranian Rahman Mohammadirad is the team’s coach. Trentino’s line-up had the setter Sbertoli; the opposite Rychlicki; the outside hitters Michieletto and Lavia; the middle blockers Flávio and Pellacani; and the libero Laurenzano. The italian Fabio Soli is the team’s coach.
The first point of the championship was scored by Brazilian middle blocker Flávio, from Trentino, in a quick play through the middle. The beginning of the first set was marked by an intense pace from Trentino, while Shahdab Yazd tried to keep up with the Italians. With solid defense, the European champions quickly opened an 8-3 lead, forcing the Iranians to call a timeout.
Some rotation errors were pointed out by the referees: two on the Iranian team and one on the Italian team. In Shahdab Yazd’s case, the team protested heavily to the main referee, resulting in a yellow card on the first occasion and a collective red card on the second, giving Trentino another point.
The tone of the set remained consistent until the end: Trentino showed strong gameplay, capitalized on counterattacks, and maintained a wide lead, winning the set 25-12, with Lavia sealing it.
Unlike the first set, the second set was more balanced. Despite some service errors from Trentino, which kept the score tight early on, Shahdab Yazd improved their defense and managed to even the game, tying the score at 11-11 with frequent plays through the middle featuring their middle blocker and captain, Masoud. With him serving, the team disrupted the Italian reception, and the Asian vice-champions took a 14-12 lead, going ahead for the first time in the match.
However, Trentino capitalized on some Iranian errors to regain the lead at the end of the set, turning a 16-17 deficit into a 20-17 advantage. Shahdab Yazd did not give up and, with an ace from opposite hitter Ghafour, narrowed the score to 20-19.
With three consecutive points, Trentino reached set point at 24-21. Shahdab Yazd saved the first set point, but Michieletto, attacking from the outside, used the Iranian block to close the set 25-22.
In the third set, Trentino once again took an early lead, but Shahdab Yazd didn’t allow the Italian team to pull away significantly. Trentino’s serves made a difference, with Rychlicki extending the lead to 6-3, and Michieletto making it 8-5 shortly afterward.
Trentino also made changes to its lineup, bringing in opposite hitter García to replace Rychlicki for the rest of the third set. The Italian team maintained a strong rhythm, building a four-point lead. Nonetheless, the Iranians kept scoring well in attack, preventing the deficit from becoming as severe as in the first set.
The match continued this way until the end, with Shahdab Yazd narrowing the gap on several occasions. For instance, Concepción scored an ace, reducing the deficit to just two points at 19-17 in favor of the Europeans.
Trentino reached match point at 24-19, but Shahdab Yazd scored two more points before Magalini’s attack from the outside sealed the game at 3-0 (25-12, 25-22, 25-21). Trentino now faces Ciudad Volley (ARG), the South American runner-up, while Shahdab Yazd takes on Sada Cruzeiro, the South American champion.
Trentino’s outside hitter Daniele Lavia was the top scorer of the match with 12 points. Fellow outside hitter Michieletto scored 10, while middle blocker Flávio added 9 points for the Italian team. On Shahdab Yazd’s side, middle blocker Javier Concepción scored 10 points, opposite hitter Ghafour added 8, and middle blocker Masoud contributed 7 points.
